About Us

Meet Dr. Courtney College & Her Team

Unlike many dental office websites, this section provides information about all of our staff. They are the very reason that a pediatric dental practice can be successful, and these folks have been carefully and prayerfully chosen for the unique gifts that they bring to our children’s dental office. We work side-by-side every day, but we are all also supportive, loyal, laugh-out-loud, critical, honest, fast friends. We actually spend free time together outside of the office — by choice!

IMG_1543Courtney College has been a Colorado resident since 1976, growing up in Evergreen and happy to once again call it home. Courtney and her husband, Kenny, both graduated from Evergreen High School “in the late 80’s,” and look forward to raising their daughter, Sauren, where they once grew up.   Fall of 2013, they were blessed to add a very special young Evergreen lady to their family, and are loving the sudden craziness of high school life.  Welcome, Sophie!  They round out their family with one much-loved rescue dog, two crazy rescue cats, two bunnies (how did THAT happen?) and two very talented and sane-minded horses.

Courtney plays flute professionally, primarily for weddings, open houses, and community and church events. When she’s not in the office or with her family, she is most usually found at the barn, riding and enjoying her horse with her equine-loving friends (loosely translated, that means anything and everything to do with horses, no matter how smelly).

She spent three years of undergraduate studies in San Antonio, Texas at Trinity University after which time she began dental school at the University of Colorado School of Dentistry. After graduating from dental school in 1994, the Pediatric Dental Residency Program took her away from home one final time. She spent 2½ years of specialty training in pediatric dentistry at the University of Michigan, completing the program with a Master of Science degree. Her research on “Bilateral Mandibular Local Anesthesia,” for which she won national recognition, was published in the Journal of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (November 1999), and is to this day required reading for all pediatric dentistry residents nationwide.

Dr. College was first introduced to pediatric dentistry when she became a patient of Dr. Malcolm Strange’s Evergreen practice at age seven. She enjoyed her many dental experiences (e.g. she had many dental needs!) so much that she spent the day with him for her Jefferson County eighth grade “Career Day.” As a college student, she spent her summers and holidays working in the office. She joined the Pediatric Dental Group of Colorado officially in 1997, fulfilling a childhood dream of not only becoming a pediatric dentist but also practicing in the office where she was once a patient. In 2005, she caught the entrepreneur bug after a colleague’s invitation to start a practice at his Littleton location. Kids to College Pediatric Dentistry officially opened its doors in November, 2005, and has been growing into the neighborhood ever since! She and the ladies most recently opened Kids to College up in Evergreen in January, 2012.

Dr. College is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She maintains memberships with the Colorado Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, Metropolitan Denver Dental Society, and Southwest Society of Pediatric Dentistry. She is an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Colorado School of Dentistry where she serves as a preceptor in the Advanced Clinical Training and Service Program. Dr. College has served on the board for Kids in Need of Dentistry and has been a volunteer for that organization since she started practicing children’s dentistry.

By way of peer recognition, Courtney has been recognized as one of 5280 Magazine’s top pediatric dentists in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and yet again in 2014!

Cindy has been the “first face” of our practice since we opened. As a wife and mother of two nearly-grown boys, she now has the time to dedicate to the smooth flow of the day at our office. She will be the first to meet your child(ren) and does a great job of alleviating their fears, meeting their needs, and introducing them to the dental experience. She is truly dedicated and truly talented, as you will see once you meet her.

Nancy has worked with Dr. College for 40+ years, as she is her mother! She is also the world’s best grandmother to Sauren, and travels weekly to spend time with her granddaughter and provide cheap labor for her daughter. She’s an amazing woman, who, despite her own dental phobia (no offense taken, Mom) is willing to spend her time in our office and is ready to answer your financial questions.

IMG_1534 (1)Lori has been involved in pediatric dentistry for ages; she actually was a dental assistant in the practice where Dr. College grew up, so they know each other well. Lori knows Courtney’s teeth, both past and present! She took special time from her career to home-school her two sons, and then returned to dentistry once the boys were in their final, self-paced years of high school. Her experience brings an ability to draw out even the shyest, most timid of children to engage and enjoy their dental visit.  Her two sons are now married, and one is currently in active duty in the Army, deployed in Afghanistan.

kittredge-kencaryl-clear creek county-dentist-kimKim was another mother-of-a-patient in Evergreen, four patients to be exact! She is truly a lover of children; you cannot be otherwise when raising four of them. Kim sold her beautiful and sweet mare, Philadelphia, to Courtney years ago, thus beginning a great horse friendship. Riding together happens when time permits, but having her capable skills in the financial department allows time to socialize during business hours as well. She brings her insurance billing experience to Kids to College Pediatric Dentistry, as she has run the billing for her husband’s low vision optometry practice for many years.  She’s felt a calling to ministry, so now helps whenever we issue the call, but is also a full-time student of theology.

georgetown-idaho springs-childrens-dentist-carlyCarly is an Evergreen native, Metro State College graduate, wife, and mother of three young darlings. She has worked with Dr. College for over 10 years, in all office roles. She’s ten years behind Courtney in age, but they are “soul sistahs” nonetheless.  You might see her behind the financial desk, but don’t be surprised when she jumps to the back to help complete your child’s dental visit. Carly wears all the hats and does it all well.  These days, she spends summers with us and the school year helping at her children’s school – she’s got a great schedule!

conifer-evergreen-littleton-childrens-annetteAnnette came to our office with previous children’s dentistry experience, and we enjoyed having her in the mountain office for several years before she re-directed her focus to raising her son. Years later, as fortune would have it, she saw our sign in Littleton while in the neighborhood. She stopped by to say “hello” on precisely the day we needed her and we begged her to consider returning to the workforce. Thankfully, she said, “yes!” She has since created and organized many back office systems, and is undaunted by new projects. In her capable hands, kids’ fears melt away, and projects such as this website are created!   She most recently is enjoying the heck out of “grandmotherhood,” believe it or not, so we get her help as she’s available; we are happy playing second fiddle to her beautiful granddaughter!
